Program Note:
The Piano Sonata #1, subtitled “Black Echoes,“ was commissioned for my friend Alexander Tselyakov. I wanted to write a piece that would highlight both his great technique and emotional expansiveness. Echoes of many musical styles may be heard through the veils of my rather gothic imagination.
